Renuka Shahane is known for many movies and roles, however, her most iconic and memorable roles remains in ‘Who are we?…!’ There is a huge section of the audience, who doesn’t want to see their film from the scene where her character falls off the staircase. So many years later, that scene is still impactful and people want to shut their eyes. That’s the kind of love which the actress got for the movie.Her character Pooja continues to remain in the hearts of the audience. Thus, a while ago, even in an interview, Renuka had recalled the kind of impact the film had.
The actress had appeared on Kapil Sharma‘s show and she was asked if she was getting ‘bhabhi roles’ after the movie or marriage proposals. Renuka reacted and had said, “Bhabhi ke role’. She further laughed and added, “Sab apne bhai ki shaddi mujhse karwana chah rahe the (Everyone wanted their brother to marry me).”
Kapil added how Renuka had set a standard when it comes to how a ‘bhabhi’ should be. He further joked that when he first met his sister-in-law, he wondered why she wasn’t behaving like Renuka’s character.
During this interaction, Renuka also spoke about how that staircase scene was shot. She revealed that director Sooraj Barjatya had actually made a staircase out of sponge for her. He ensured about her safety and also asked her every few minutes if she was fine. Renuka also laughed and said that the staircase was so soft and spongy that she actually enjoyed rolling down from it.
