Varun Dhawan recently praised his Sui Dhaaga co-star Anushka Sharma as an evolved person and expressed regret for not working with her earlier. Anushka, who has been semi-retired since her last film in 2018, is now focused on raising her two children with husband Virat Kohli.
In conversation with Ranveer Allahbadia’s podcast, Varun shared that Anushka once revealed how Virat reacted after India lost a Test match in Nottingham. Despite being the highest scorer that day, Virat was deeply upset and blamed himself, even though Anushka hadn’t attended the game and found him crying in his room afterward.
The actor described the actress as someone who brings authenticity to every life she enters. He mentioned that her realness sometimes makes people uncomfortable, but she always speaks the right words at the right moments. Varun also noted that Anushka began her spiritual journey at a young age and embraces people for who they are.
Varun shared that Anushka doesn’t tolerate injustice and mentioned how they spent a lot of time talking during their Sui Dhaaga shoot in a village, often sitting on rocking chairs. When asked what people don’t know about her, Varun said she doesn’t care if the world knows anything about her.
Meanwhile, Anushka ‘s much-awaited return to the big screen in the sports drama Chakda 'Xpress has been postponed indefinitely, with its release on Netflix still pending. Meanwhile, Varun is set to star in the action-packed Baby John, which is scheduled for release on Christmas Day.
