The new flagship Xiaomi 13 Ultra has arrived, and it has four 50-megapixel cameras.
Xiaomi has released its newest flagship, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra. To better compete with the top Android flagships, Xiaomi has upgraded the Xiaomi 13 Pro with the Xiaomi 13 Ultra, which adds a fourth camera to the back.
The Xiaomi 13 Ultra has been introduced worldwide, not just in China. The Xiaomi 13 Pro serves as the basis for the company’s new Ultra smartphone, which, as expected, features an upgraded camera and a reimagined aesthetic. In China, Xiaomi has introduced the Xiaomi 13 Ultra in a variety of colors, but internationally, only black and olive green will be offered.
In addition, unlike the Xiaomi 13 Pro, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra’s maximum fast-charging power is only 90 W. However, reverse wireless charging and 50 W wireless charging are still available.
The battery capacity of the Xiaomi 13 Ultra increases from 4,820 mAh to 5,000 mAh, making it nominally higher than the battery capacity of the Xiaomi 13 Pro. The Xiaomi 13 Ultra also introduces a new hibernation mode and an improved version of the company’s Surge Battery Management technology.
In addition, LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 flash storage can be found in the Xiaomi 13 Ultra. The 6.73-inch LTPO AMOLED screen on the Xiaomi 13 Ultra operates at 1440p with a 1-120 Hz refresh rate, just like the one on the Pro. While the old TCL C7 panel maxed out at 1,300 nits, the new TCL C7 panel reaches a staggering 2,600 nits.
The camera hardware is perhaps the most noticeable difference between the Xiaomi 13 Ultra and the Xiaomi 13 Pro. The graphic below demonstrates that the latest flagship from Xiaomi is equipped with cameras that have equivalent focal lengths of 12, 23, 75, and 120 millimeters.
According to Xiaomi, all of the cameras are optically stabilized, save for the ultra-wide-angle one found on the Ultra. It’s no surprise that Xiaomi is sticking with the tried-and-true Sony IMX989 for a third time; the company also includes three Sony IMX858 sensors.
Xiaomi has not yet announced international pricing. However, Xiaomi has announced that the base model of the Xiaomi 13 Ultra with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage will retail for CNY 5,999 (US$872). The starting price for the Xiaomi 13 Pro is CNY 4,999 ($727). In China, the complete price of a Xiaomi 13 Ultra is as follows:
CNY 5,999 ($872) for 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage.
For CNY 6,499 ($945), you can get a device with 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage space.
CNY 7,299 ($1,061) for a device with 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage.
