Diwali, the festival of lights, turned into a celebration for cinephiles this year, with multiple films across languages entertaining audiences nationwide. Among the standout releases were Rohit Shetty and Ajay Devgn’s ‘Singham Again‘, Kartik Aaryan and Vidya Balan’s ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3′, and Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi’s Amaran. Surprisingly, it’s the modestly budgeted Tamil film Amaran that has taken the lead, winning hearts and racing ahead of its big-budget counterparts.

When it came to the second week’s collection, it was Kartik Aaryan’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 that was leading from the front with Amaran being second and ‘Singham Again’ being third. Their collection stood at Rs 57.85 crore, Rs 57.15 and Rs 47.50 crore respectively. But in the third week it seems the film which is based on the like of Major Mukund Vardarajan is gaining a lot of momentum and on the third Saturday the film has beaten both mammoth franchises. On Saturday where Rohit Shetty’s directorial venture earned only Rs 3.25 crore and Anees Bazmee’s BB 3 earned Rs 4.75 crore, Rajkumar Periasamy’s film minted Rs 6 crore and took the total collection of the film to Rs 181.70 crore. ‘Singham Again’s total collection is now Rs 226.50 crore while Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 stands at Rs 225.15 crore.
The gap between ‘Singham Again’ and ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’ has been narrowing with each passing day and it seems before the end of the third week, BB3 would overtake the latest instalment of Cop Universe.
