Shah Rukh Khan once candidly shared his thoughts in his first raw interview before his rise to fame. In this unfiltered conversation, he poured his heart out about losing his mother.
The actor revealed that his mother always encouraged him and made him feel special, which led him to believe in his worth. However, after her passing, he felt like he was nothing. He remembered that her biggest dream was to see him on the big screen.
Shah Rukh reflected on his father’s death, sharing that he was only fourteen at the time and didn’t cry because he was so young. In contrast, his mother’s passing deeply affected him. He mentioned being in Goa when he received the news that she was unwell.SRK recounted a moment of vulnerability when he cried for the first time in front of others. After three days, he returned to Delhi, feeling helpless despite his efforts. He shared a memory from the hospital, recalling a night when a doctor gave him distressing news about his mother’s condition. Frustrated, he ran around Delhi trying to find the necessary injections, feeling desperate as he struggled to get the required amount.
King Khan also opened up about the heart-wrenching moment when he returned to see his mother surrounded by tubes and respirators. Feeling helpless, he expressed his feelings to her, saying things that he now finds silly but felt necessary at the time. He recalled sitting by her bedside, holding her, and pleading, “You can’t die, because I’ll be very unhappy. You haven’t seen my new show yet, and there’s so much we haven’t done together.” He described it as a dramatic scene, almost like something out of a movie.

Shah Rukh Khan’s mother passed away despite his efforts to help her. He once shared that he didn’t cry when she died but felt overwhelmed when he buried her. At that moment, he realized he wasn’t as great as she always told him he was. Even now, he feels less confident without her.
“There was no drama in her dying. She had her eyes open, she just kept looking at me and then suddenly she just closed her eyes and died. I didn’t cry then. The crying came later when I was burying her. And at that time it somehow made me feel that I wasn’t so great after all. No one is great. So when I say that this one is no big shit. I don’t mean offence. I just mean that nothing is permanent, ever,” he said.
The actor has won the hearts of generations and is known as one of the kindest celebrities. Despite facing challenges, Shah Rukh Khan continues to embody the love and compassion his parents taught him.
