review request for the Vivo X Flip

Here we have Vivo’s first clamshell foldable, the X Flip, and it looks the part from every vantage point.

It comes with a two-piece transparent case that doesn’t disguise the phone’s design, as well as a 44W charger, a USB cable, and a large box.

With the X Flip, Vivo competes directly with other clamshell fold ables on the market. The Vivo’s larger size allows for more powerful screens and a larger battery than the Galaxy Z Flip 4.

For instance, the cover screen is a big improvement over the Galaxy’s. It has its own customized version of Android preloaded with a selection of apps and widgets and a 3-inch display.

It lacks some of the functionality of Motorola’s version, but it’s far ahead of Samsung’s. And the main camera’s selfie experience is fantastic.

However, the Razr 40 Ultra’s cover screen is an even larger 3.6 inches, allowing for slightly more content.
The 6.74-inch AMOLED panel with a 21:9 aspect ratio is foldable. It’s a little bit smaller than the display of the Motorola Razr 40 Ultra, but its more standard 16:9 aspect ratio is a welcome change.

The Vivo X Flip is a very quick smartphone because it is equipped with a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor, quick UFS 3.1 storage, and Vivo’s own Origin OS.

Both of the X Flip’s cameras, the regular one and the ultra wide one, are equipped with phase-detection autofocus and are tuned by Zeiss optics.

A 4,400mAh battery gives the Vivo X Flip a significant advantage over its competitors, including the Motorola Razr 40 Ultra, the Galaxy Z Flip 4, and even the Huawei Pocket S and the Oppo Find N2 Flip.

The Vivo X Flip is an attractive mobile device. The gold version we got looks like a soft cream in some lights, but in others it has fiery undertones.

The phone’s design is also well thought out in that it curves and tapers on both sides, making it easy to hold.

The first clamshell from Vivo is a welcome addition to the market. We will still put it through our standard battery of tests to see how far vivo has gone, even if interested purchasers outside of China won’t be able to get one.
