Every time a Rajinikanth film releases in theaters, it’s a festival for his fans. That festive spirit can be seen once again with the release of his latest film Vettaiyan. The film had an advance booking of nearly Rs 16 crore, excluding block bookings, and has already collected Rs 5.82 crore from its morning shows, which began as early as 4 AM. In Tamil Nadu, screenings only started at 9 AM.

Rajinikanth’s next film is Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Coolie, which is now part of Lokesh’s Cinematic Universe, including titles like Vikram, Leo, and Kaithi. Coolie also features NagarjunaShruti Haasan, Sivakarthikeyan, and Upendra Rao. The superstar is currently recuperating from a non-surgical procedure to treat swelling in his aorta, and he is expected to return to the sets in the coming weeks.
