The ‘Desi Girl’ turn global star Priyanka Chopra Jonas was recently in India, where during an interview she was asked to reveal a difference she felt while working in Bollywood and Hollywood.
Since the actress has several hit Bollywood movies and Hollywood projects under her belt, she perhaps is the right person to answer the very question. Drawing the comparison between the movie industries, Priyanka mentioned that every country has its own culture, and style of working.However, one big difference is that in Hollywood it is more about a tightly packed work schedule which involves a lot of paperwork and emails. Whereas in Bollywood, there’s always room for ‘jugaad.’
“I think the one big difference I have noticed between Hollywood and Bollywood is Hollywood has so much paperwork. 100 emails that will come to you before the next day. Timings are very specific. It depends on what time you wrapped the night before. There’s no room to play unless you are working with a filmmaker like that. It is really tight and very organized,” said Priyanka while talking to Forbes India.
She further added, “We have a lot more ‘jugaad’ (winging it) and get stuff done. We are like a little romantic about it like ‘Arey ho jayega, kar lenge (We will get it done),’ so it is like a very different way of working but that is also true to the countries themselves.”
Priyanka also said she thinks it is Bollywood’s creativity that can be super organic sometimes.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Priyanka Chopra Jonas’s last project was the American romantic-comedy ‘Love Again.’ Next, she has ‘Heads of State,’ and ‘The Bluff.’ Both of the movies are highly anticipated projects and the fans simply can’t wait to catch them.
