Nikkhil Advani recalls his daily drinking sessions with Rishi Kapoor: 'He forgot my name after the third drink and said, 'Boy, make my drink''

Film maker Nikhil Advani spoke about his experiences of working with the late Rishi Kapoor in the film Patiala House. Even though the film had not performed well at the box office, Advani pointed out the fantastic music and how the project made him close to Kapoor.
Nikkhil recently went on the Cyrus Says podcast and reminisced about how he bonded amicably with his fellow castmates. He remembered the funny drinking sessions that the people had with him and said, “We drank almost every day,” confessing that after three drinks, Rishi forgot his name and always referred to him as “boy.” Nikkhil had an amusing memory: “Boy, make my drink,” where they were just lighthearted buddies.
While Patiala House did not receive much commercial acceptance, the personal relationships and collective memory of its making stayed with Nikkhil Advani as well as his general feeling for the sweet dear Rishi Kapoor.

Nikkhil Advani also spoke of the niceties of their friendship; his home and Rishi’s shared a wall across which they would just stretch out to grab a drink or discuss the latest newly released films. “Rishi would go on ranting about a particular film,” said Nikkhil, who thinks it was the most humorous thing.
He recalls how he had approached Rishi Kapoor for his 2013 directorial venture D-Day, in which Rishi played a character inspired by infamous mafia boss Dawood Ibrahim.
