Mukesh Khanna who is known for being India’s first superhero Shaktimaan after he played the superhero in the TV series which was aired from 1997 to 2005. There have been rumours of the TV series being adapted into a film. Amidst that, Khanna has also not been in the favour of Ranveer Singh getting into the shoes. As Khanna wore the Shaktimaan costume again and said that it’s time for him to return, the actor started getting trolled and age-shamed.
But the actor has now dropped a video clarifying his act. Khanna said that he just wanted to teach children as he came with a patriotic song and though wearing the Shaktimaan costume would help the message reach out to more children. He expressed that positivity is not selling, just negativity is selling today. He said, “When did I say that I am coming back? Or I am becoming Shaktimaan. I am still Shaktimaan, but I have to wear the costume again for this patriot song.”
He further added, “No one has praised this song or the thought behind it. Everyone said, 'Hey sir, this God is becoming Shaktimaan'. It is not so. I thought this song goes with the costume, and “This will be more effective.”
Khanna hit back at trolls who age-shamed him. He said, “Do you know what my age is? My age is 160 years. How many of these YouTubers are there who have said that 'You are our hero. No one else can become Shaktimaan'. He says that when Rajinikanth is You can become a hero by applying makeup in your life, so why not? And today you are making fun of my age.”
He concluded his video by saying that he wants to pass on the title of Shaktimaan to a new actor who has that sort of innocent face and personality.
