Veteran actress Gupta said was among the celebrities who were honoured during the National Film Awards ceremony on October 8, 2024. Neena won the Best Supporting Actress National Award for Sooraj Barjatya's film 'Unchai’. After her mother Neena Gupta received an award for the 2022 film ‘Uunchai’ at the ceremony, celebrity designer and actress Masaba Gupta was overjoyed. Masaba, who is soon to become a mother, revealed that her to-be-born baby has the “coolest” grandmother.
On Tuesday, Masaba Gupta took to Instagram to share her thoughts following her mother Neena Gupta’s big accomplishment.Masaba shared a photo and a video of Neena Gupta winning the award during the event. Masaba congratulated the actress and penned a sweet note for her mother in the post. She wrote, “Will tell my baby NaniJi is the coolest and was winning National Awards since 1994 with flowers in her hair….CONGRATULATIONS @neena_gupta.”
Neena Gupta looked beautiful as she chose to wear a pink saree for the National Film Award ceremony. For the event, the veteran actress also styled her look with a pink flower behind her ear. Neena posted on Instagram to celebrate her significant victory at the National Awards in 2024. The actress wrote in her post that it was her fourth honour. “Honoured to receive my fourth national award from the honorable President of India, Droupadi Murmu,” stated the caption.
On August 16, the 70th National Film Awards winners were announced. Neena Gupta said in a previous interview with Hindustan Times that she was surprised to learn about her win. The actress revealed that she requested her management to “double-check” the report if it was real back then.
In ‘Uunchai’, Neena portrayed the character of Boman Irani’s on-screen wife. It also starred Amitabh Bachchan, Anupam Kher, Danny Denzongpa, Sarika, and Parineeti Chopra in pivotal roles.
On the other hand, Masaba Gupta is set to welcome her first child with her husband Satyadeep Mishra. Masaba announced her pregnancy in April 2024 and hosted a baby shower ceremony in August. She has acted in the web series ‘Masaba Masaba’, which also starred her mother Neena Gupta.
