Critic I sayfrom being an outsider to now a producer, walked the red carpet with her film ‘Do Patti‘ at IFFI 2024. When asked how it feels, the actress said, “It feels amazing. It feels like a journey, and it’s been about 10 years now. It feels like I am progressing, evolving.”
When asked which is tougher, wearing a producer’s hat or an actor’s, she replied, “The producer’s hat is tougher. You have to manage so many things, and I am not good at multitasking. As a producer, you have to look at everything holistically, every small detail from editing to music, and bring the best version of the film. As an actor, it is only limited to your performance.”
When asked one role that is in her bucketlist, she added, “I would definitely want to play a superwoman if someone writes it. We haven’t had too many superheroes coming out of our country except for Krishnaand I love action. Why not combine the two?”
When asked about Kanika Dhillonher producer and a fine writer, and whether there are enough opportunities for women writers today, Kriti said, “I don’t think when you listen to a story, you think about whether it is written by a man or a woman. I don’t think there is ever a bias there. A female perspective can come with a lot of shades, like Kanika does. It is good when you want to show women in different and stronger lights. Women bring a lot of empathy.”
The parting shot was when Kriti was asked about a biopic or any person’s story she would want to tell. She said, “It has not come to me. I swear, if it were in my mind, I would have had it written.”
