'Kohrra' star Barun Sobti says he rejects scripts with kissing scenes; it's an unspoken promise to his wife: 'I've never kissed anyone on-screen'

Barun Sobti is still remembered for being this television heartthrob with shows like ‘What is the name of this love?‘. He’s a face which is remembered over the years and lately, he’s getting a lot of due for his work on OTT, with projects like ‘Asur’ and ‘Kohrra‘. There’s also going to be another season of the show now. Barun will now be seen in another OTT project called ‘The night is coming”.During a recent interview, the actor confessed that he doesn’t kiss on-screen and has often said no to such scripts.
Thankfully, for the actor, he has not lost out on many projects due to that policy as most makers have agreed to remove the kissing scene. Barun said during a chat with News18, “I haven’t kissed anyone onscreen. However, I’ve rarely had to reject work because of that. I’ve been very, very lucky as the people who wanted to cast me really wanted me, and they were okay with removing the kissing scenes from the script. Maybe they saw my skill set and thought that a kiss wasn’t a very relevant part of the story. If I’ve rejected something, it was mostly because I thought the script wasn’t very good.”
The actor had told the portal earlier that this policy is like an unspoken promise to his girlfriend, who is now his wife, Pashmeen Manchanda who had asked him when they were young adults if acting would involve him going around kissing everyone.
Barun further added, “Sometimes, the sexual dynamic between two characters is very important to the script. In such instances, there’s no point in requesting them to cut out the kissing. So, at those times, I’ve told them that I’m not available. I only give such scripts a chance when I know we can do without a kissing scene. And whenever I’ve asked if we could remove such scenes, they’ve agreed because they weren’t integral to the story.”
Barun had tied the knot with Pashmeen in 2010 and they have two children.
