Rymir Satterthwaitewho claims to be Jay-Z’s son, has spoken publicly about his alleged father, describing him as “a secretive and vindictive man.”
In a recent interview with Media Take Out, Satterthwaite, 30, alleged that his mother, who passed away at 45 from heart attacks, had a relationship with Jay-Z when she was just 15 years old and the rapper was 22 at the time. He went on to claim that it was the rapper who got her pregnant at just 16.
Satterthwaite suggested that the underage nature of their alleged relationship might explain Jay-Z’s reported refusal to undergo a paternity test. Jay-Z’s legal team has previously denied these claims, arguing that the man listed on Satterthwaite’s birth certificate is his biological father. However, after a DNA test ruled out the man’s paternity, Satterthwaite continued his pursuit of the case.
Satterthwaite has said his goal is to expose what he views as a failure of the legal system in handling his claims, while also expressing a willingness to apologise publicly if proven wrong.
The allegations have reignited attention on the rapper’s private life, following an amended civil lawsuit filed in federal court on Sunday which alleges that Jay-Z and Sean “Diddy” Combs raped a 13-year-old girl during a party in New York in 2000. Jay-Z and Combs have denied the allegations.
Jay-Z, whose real name is Shawn Carter, has blasted the lawsuit, calling it part of a “blackmail attempt” by the plaintiff’s lawyer.
Tony Buzbee, the Texas lawyer representing the girl who filed Sunday’s lawsuit, has filed at least 20 civil lawsuits against Combs accusing him of sexual misconduct.
