Aamir Khan‘s daughter, Ira Khan, recently shared her funny experience of meeting Nick Jonas at the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC) gala in 2023. Talking about the event, Ira opened up about being unprepared for the grand occasion and her memorable conversation with the global pop star.
Speaking with Pinkvilla, Ira stated, “Oh my god. I had no idea Nick Jonas was going to be there.” She further shared that things got even worse for her as she remembered her father, Aamir Khan, not telling her what the dress code at the event was. “My dad just says, ‘We have to go for this,’ without sharing details.”. I showed up in my best guess and ended up getting trolled on Instagram for not dressing appropriately, she said.
Despite the initial uneasiness, Ira summoned enough courage and asked Nick to take her picture, insisting on sharing a funny memory that had resurfaced while growing up. “My best friend and I would joke, ‘Let’s marry Nick Jonas.’ It’s probably not the reason I rarely ask for pictures, but I had to for the 5-year old us, I guess,” she further said. Known for their humble nature, Nick without a question said yes for the picture.
Their interaction included a casual banter, in which Ira nervously inquired about the weather with Jonas. “I immediately realized it was a stupid question because he’s been to India so many times,” she laughed. The encounter became even more special with the fact that her then fiancé, Nupur Shikhare, had a chance to interact with Jonas.
Ira Khan, tied the knot with her longtime partner, fitness trainer Nupur Shikhare, in an intimate yet grand ceremony attended by family and friends in January this year. The couple, who have been together for several years, got engaged in a dreamy proposal that went viral last year, where Nupur proposed during a triathlon event.
