Renowned fashion designer Rohit Bal passed away on November 1, 2024, after a protracted battle with a heart ailment. The 63-year-old was taken to the hospital after suffering a cardiac arrestbut he couldn’t make it.
The news of his passing shocked fans and people in the film and fashion industry. Celebrities like Sonam Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor, Ananya Blacksmith and Sidharth Malhotra mourn his loss by sharing their pictures with him.
In an official Instagram post, the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) verified the information. The fashion designer had a long-term heart condition and even underwent an angioplasty after experiencing a cardiac arrest. A few weeks ago, the designer went back to work at Lakme Fashion Week.
Kareena Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor, Ananya Panday, Salman Khan, Sidharth Malhotra, Kajol, and other celebrities were among those he had collaborated with. The news of his passing shocked many people, who were left devastated.
Sonam Kapoor shared several photos of herself walking the ramp for him and writing a heartfelt remark for him on her Instagram stories. The fashionista also posted a screenshot of their most recent conversation in which she complimented him on his performance.
Along with the pictures, she wrote, “Dear Gudda, I hear about your passing on my way to celebrate Diwali in your creation that your generously lent me for the second time. I have been blessed to have known you, worn you, and walked for you multiple times. I hope you are at peace, always your biggest fan.”
Ananya Panday also posted a picture from her last ramp walk for the designer. She penned, “Gudda, Om Shanti.” Kareena Kapoor posted some old photos of the designer along with a few heart emojis on her stories. Sidharth Malhotra also posted a throwback picture where he walked for Bal on a show and wrote, “Deeply saddened by the loss. May his soul rest in peace. Om Shanti.”
Rohit Bal, who was also referred to as Gudda in the industry, was well-known for breaking conventions by creating clothing that was inclusive of all genders. He was also praised for his ability to combine international fashion trends with India’s rich cultural legacy, which helped his ensembles become very well-liked.
