‘Dynasty’ & ‘Stranger Things’ fame Mark Withers passes away at 77

The Hollywood industry has lost yet another gem. The popular actor Mark Witherswho has earned love and fame with his work in projects like ‘Dynasty,’ ‘Stranger Things’ and more, has passed away at the age of 77.
Late actor Mark’s daughter Jessie Withers shared the news. In a statement given by her to Variety on Friday, Jessie revealed her father passed away on Nov. 22 after he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.
“He confronted his illness with the same strength and dignity he brought to his craft, creating a legacy of warmth, humor, and dedication, along with his remarkable ability to make every role unforgettable,” said Jessie in a statement to Variety.
“Mark’s enduring talent and commitment to the industry will be fondly remembered by colleagues, friends, and fans alike,” she further added.
Born June 25, 1947, in Binghamton, New York, Mark had a passion for the creative arts in his heart from a young age. He studied acting and directing at California State University, Los Angeles, and then did his Master of Fine Arts at Minnesota State University, Mankato.
Though every role of the late star made an impression, some of his work stood against the test of time, like his part in ‘Dynasty.’ In 1981, he had a six-episode arc on Dynasty Season 1. He portrayed the role of Steve Carrington’s (Al Corley) lover Ted Dinard, who meets an untimely demise that nearly breaks the Carrington family apart.
Some of his other famous projects include ‘Days of Our Lives,’ ‘L.A. Law,’ ‘Matlock,’ ‘Frasier,’ ‘Stranger Things,’ ‘Criminal Minds,’ ‘Wonder Woman,’ ‘Magnum P.I.,’ ‘The Dukes of Hazzard,’ ‘Sense8,’ and more.
The late actor Mark Wither is survived by a wife Haiyan Liu Withers and daughter Jessie Withers.
