Director Madhur Bhandarkar says Ratan Tata should be awarded with the Bharat Ratna

Ratan Dadthe revered industrialist, passed away on October 9, 2024, at the age of 86. His demise has left a profound impact throughout India, and also within the film industry, where numerous celebrities have expressed their sorrow and admiration for his monumental contributions to society.
Director Madhur Bhandarkar articulated this sentiment during an interview with ANI, stating, “His contribution in all sectors has been great.He has inspired many people along the way. India will always be grateful for his contribution. He was a very down-to-earth person… Every Indian has heard the name ‘Tata’ since childhood… He supported so many new startups and the young generation… He should definitely be awarded with the Bharat Ratna.”
The memorial ceremony held in Worli, Mumbai, drew a significant number of attendees, including Bollywood actor Aamir Khan and director Kiran Rao. They were among hundreds who came to pay their respects, which included a citizens, prominent business leaders, politicians, and Tata employees.
After the ceremony, both Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao expressed their deep admiration for Tata’s lifelong commitment to the nation. Khan remarked, “It is a sad day for the country. The contribution of Ratan Tata to the country is priceless. He was a rare individual. We will all miss him a lot.” Kiran Rao added, “It is a sad day today. He was an amazing person; I had the opportunity to spend time with him. It is sad that he is no more. He has done a lot for the country.”
Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan also shared a heartfelt message on Instagram alongside a photograph of himself with Ratan Tata. In his post, he reflected on Tata’s remarkable qualities and their collaborative work on humanitarian initiatives, emphasizing that it was a “greatest honour” to have worked with him This sentiment was echoed by other prominent figures in Bollywood.
