Filmmakers Abbas and Mustan Burmawalla revealed in a coversation with Indian Express that Arbaaz Khan was initially considered for the lead role in Khiladi, but Salim Khanhis father, felt the role wouldn’t be a good fit for him. As a result, Akshay Kumar was approached for the role instead. This story highlights how casting decisions were shaped back in the 90s.

Before casting Shah Rukh Khan in Baazigar, the filmmakers first approached Anil Kapoor, who declined due to the risky nature of the role. Salman Khan was considered next, but his focus on family-oriented films led to him being ruled out. Ultimately, the filmmakers turned to Shah Rukh, who was convinced after hearing the script.

After hearing the story of Baazigar, Shah Rukh Khan was so impressed that he jumped up, hugged the filmmakers, and enthusiastically agreed to take on the role. His response showed his excitement and confidence in the script, and that marked the beginning of his iconic role in the film.
