Claudia Doumit recently opened up about her journey on ‘The Boys‘, discussing why she was not supposed to play manipulative Victoria Neumanthe role she is now quite famous for. Fans have enjoyed seeing Doumit’s calculated, coy, and sinister nature as Neuman in the series; however, it’s not what she was originally cast to play.
It was recently in an interview that Doumit revealed one of her earliest auditions for ‘The Boys’ was actually for the character of Ashley BarrettVought’s high-strung former assistant, now CEO.It was eventually taken by Colby Minifie. According to a Pinkvilla report, she recalled: “I remember I originally came in for the role of Ashley the publicist.” The actress also admitted she didn’t feel quite right for it.
Having caught the first season, Doumit turned into an aficionado and eventually came back to audition for the second season, this time with the role of Victoria Neuman. “Victoria Neuman found her way to me,” she admitted.
However, Doumit, never knew what her character’s full arc was when she signed on for it. She only learned Neuman’s storyline when she was at the finale of Season 2. “It’s been a fantastic journey and a fantastic character to really sink my teeth into,” she said.
For those of you who do not know, Victoria Neuman is also in the secondary series Gen V from ‘The Boys’. With regards to this episode, one sees a weaker Victoria Neuman with a side of her personality shining through when she talks about her best friend, Marie Moreau, played by Jaz Sinclair.
The star-studded cast continues to shine as the show only wraps up its dramatic fourth season. The show also stars several other cast members like Antony Starr, who plays Homelander, Karl Urban who plays Billy Butcher, and Jack Quaid, who stars as Hughie Campbell. Meanwhile, the role of Annie January was played by Erin Moriarty, while Karen Fukuhara and Tomer Capone played Kimiko and Frenchie respectively.
