Darshan Jariwala calls Ranbir Kapoor ‘best among his contemporaries’: ‘Look at the choice of films’

Since his 2007 debut in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Saawariya', Ranbir Kapoor has proven to be an exceptional actor. Ranbir’s co-star in ‘Raajneeti’ and veteran actor Darshan Jariwala recently showered Ranbir with praise, referring to him as the “best” actor of our time.
Darshan has worked with Ranbir in movies such as ‘Amazing love story' and 'Raajneeti'. Both movies have had a big impact on Ranbir's career.Speaking with Digital Commentary, Darshan examined Ranbir's career trajectory and stated, “I think, in his contemporaries, he is the best. Looking at the choice of films, the parts he has chosen to play… Because when you are looking at yourself like a star, your career, toh ghode ka patta aa jaata hai, ki aise hi roles hain hain, but he doesn't do that. He experiments.”
Darshan Jariwala cited 'Animal' and 'Brahmastra' to demonstrate Ranbir Kapoor's versatility. Look at him Animalor Brahmastra. He never hesitates from playing different roles. If you see his choice of directors, the directors he has worked with, he has always learned from them. Prakash Jha is a great school by himself. His passion… I have done two films with him, Rajneeti and Aarakshan. So, Ranbir, according to me, among his contemporaries, he is miles ahead,” Darshan added.
Darshan also related a fascinating story about Shahid Kapoor asking Ranbir for help prior to filming Rajkumar Santoshi’s ‘Phata Poster Nikla Hero’. He revealed that when Shahid asked Ranbir for advice on what to do in Rajkumar’s movie, he got the following advice, “Do what the director does, not just what he says.”
On the work front, Ranbir Kapoor is gearing up for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s directorial ‘Love & War’. It also stars Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal. The actor also has Nitesh Tiwari’s ‘Ramayan’ in the pipeline.
