Costly repairs for the Xiaomi 13 Ultra
We recently reviewed the Xiaomi 13 Ultra, the company’s latest flagship model, and found its impressive specifications and features to be in line with the praise it has received (for more, see our review of the Xiaomi 13 Ultra).
The Xiaomi 13 Ultra, like any other electronic item, may eventually break down and need fixing or new parts. Xiaomi has now issued a list of repair rates for its non-warranty replacement parts, providing customers with a better indication of what they should expect to pay in the event of a repair.
The display is one of the main selling points of the Xiaomi 13 Ultra. You should expect to spend about $198 (or 1,360 yuan) to replace it. The rear camera assembly is another important component, and its replacement will set you back about $210, or 1,450 yuan. These prices may appear excessive, but they are competitive with what other companies charge for equivalent replacement components.
The motherboard is the brain and controls the action of the Xiaomi 13 Ultra. A motherboard replacement for the 12GB+256GB model would set you back 2,320 yuan, or roughly $337. The 16GB+1TB model costs an extra 2,560 yuan, or about $372. These prices are high enough to worry some customers.
Another crucial part that may eventually need replacing is the battery in your Xiaomi 13 Ultra. The price of 159 yuan, or about $23, to replace the battery is fair. The cost to repair the battery cover is 180 yuan ($26). All replacement parts and labor for the Xiaomi 13 Ultra outside of the warranty period will cost you 40 yuan, or about $6.
If you want to keep the cost of repairs and replacement parts to a minimum, it’s best to treat your smartphone with care. However, if your Xiaomi 13 Ultra needs service or parts, you should think carefully about the associated prices before making any choices. Make sure you read the fine print of the warranty you purchased with the equipment, since it may cover the cost of repairs or replacements.
