Chunky Panday’s wife Bhavana Panday recently reminisced about going against her father’s will and marrying the ‘Aankhen’ actor.
Talking with Siddharth Kannan in an interview, the costume designer revealed that when she decided to get married to Chunky Panday, he was at the lowest phase of his career. Bhavana said she didn’t have the guts to tell her dad that she wanted to marry Chunky Panday.

Even after growing some courage and telling her parents about the same, both her mother and father were against the marriage. Her father reasoned this by saying, “He is an actor and we are not from the industry. We don’t know that world. What about your career after you move to Mumbai?’”
Taking a stand against her father and marrying Chucky Panday, Bhavana recalled being introduced to the glam world of cinema.
She admitted feeling insecure when she entered the world of Bollywood with the so-called ‘Beautiful-looking people’ and also wanted her husband to feel proud of his wife.
Having only seen Chunky Panday outside the film glamour, Bhavana Panday felt insecure when she stepped inside the showbiz filled with beautiful and successful people all around.
Bhavana said, “You want to make that extra effort to be liked by them. I also wanted that Chunky should be proud of his wife.” She also added that the way how a partner treats you is directly connected with the level of insecurity he or she may feel. “In my case, Chunky made me feel extremely comfortable. It was also the time when he was at the lowest phase of his career so we were more like a unit than him flying on his own, “Bhavana said, adding that she also supported him in every way possible from the house.
Talking about Ananya Panday’s birth, Bhavana said that it was completely an unplanned one, and from being an insecure wife and a successful husband, they quickly transformed into becoming parents to a baby girl.
Bhavana said that Chunky was always supportive and he constantly told her not to be afraid of anything. Chucky having fewer film projects was actually a blessing in disguise as the couples got more time to spend together, making their bond even stronger.
