Ashwini Kalsekar recently opened up about her struggles to conceive a child and embracing motherhood. She also revealed why she didn’t opt for surrogacy.
During an interview with Hauterrfly, Ashwini shared that she and her husband, Murali Sharmawanted to have children but faced challenges. She explained that her kidney condition made it risky for her health and the child’s well-being. At the time, surrogacy wasn’t common, and financial constraints made it even harder to pursue alternatives.
The actress also shared that as she aged, she felt her body wasn’t mentally or physically equipped to care for a young child. While she regrets not experiencing motherhood, she believes it’s a matter of destiny. She finds fulfillment in caring for her parents and in-laws, whom she considers her children.
In the interview, Ashwini also shared that although she couldn’t have children, she considers her two dogs as her children and has hired a nanny to take care of them. The 54-year-old actress also revealed that she went through menopause at 51, which was a challenging time for her. She experienced significant weight loss and struggled with both emotional and physical health. However, she found strength during this transitional phase of her life.
