Losing a parent can change one’s life forever. Losing a parent means losing your happy, safe place, losing your comfort, a part of your being. Speaking on similar lines, Arjun Kapoor recently opened up about his mother Mona Shourie’s demise. He shared how God and his parents have given him a privileged life and he respects that; however, no luxury in the world can ever replace the void that he has in life. He confessed that certain things came to him easily, but his life is not without baggage, not without trauma; the trauma that has shaped him into who he is today.

Remembering her and expressing how he can never experience the warmth of his mother’s embrace, Arjun said, “Contextualise my life a bit, you have your parents and you still do. You can go home, maa ki god mein sar rakh ke so sakte ho (You can rest easy knowing your mother is there to take care of you), I can never do that, main apni maa ki god mein sar rakh ke nahi so sakta…(I cannot put my head in mother’s lap and sleep).”
He added, “I am just saying that of course, I have a few things that God has given me or my father and mother have given, but I don’t have what you have. Should I envy you? Should I have negativity towards you for having a mother?”
Perhaps overwhelmed with emotions, the actor expressed that no matter how much he prays, he will never have his mother in his life again.
