Allu Arjun remains the rage in the nation with ‘Pushpa: The Rise‘ 2021 for which he earned the National Award for Best Actor for his energetic performance.
Ahead of the sequel, ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule‘, the actor recently opened up his heart about his journey and how director Sukumar has turned his career into what it is today.
The grand promotional event of ‘Pushpa 2’ in Chennai saw Allu Arjun reminiscing about the very challenging phase after the debut movie ‘Gangotri’ since, although the film had worked, opportunities did not come his way easily.”I made my debut as a lead actor with Raghavendra Rao garu’s Gangotri. He delivered a superhit, but I didn’t deliver as an actor. No one came to work with me after the release of the film. Then, a debut filmmaker came up to me and offered Arya. There has been no looking back since then” Allu Arjun said, quoted by ‘Indian Express’.
Reflecting on Sukumar’s influence, the actor added, “When I look back at my career, and if I have to point out the one person who had the maximum impact in my life, it would have to be Sukumar. Even now, he is busy with the post-production. His absence speaks louder than his presence. I miss you, Sukku. We are all in this together.”
Sukumar was unavailable for the Chennai event due to his busy post-production schedule for ‘Pushpa 2’. Reports abound that the filmmaker is racing against time to deliver a sequel that would match the monumental success of its predecessor.
Sukumar has also finally found his rhythm and is nearing the completion of Pushpa 2: The Rule. The film continues the story of Allu Arjun’s Pushpa Raj as he consolidates his power in the red sandalwood smuggling syndicate. Rashmika Mandanna gets back into the role of Srivalli while Fahadh Faasil returns to play the character of Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat, the relentless pursuer. Pushpa 2 is coming out on December 5, 2024.
