Two films releasing on the same day is never a good news for business, as they eat into each other’s collections invariably. This Diwali, Hindi Cinema got two big releases in Ajay Devgn and Rohit Shetty’s Singham Again and Kartik Aryan- Vidya Balan’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3.

Between the two films, it was Singham Again , which was leading the business at it minted Rs 173 crore in first week, while BB3 earned RS 158 crore. But as time progressed, the tables began to turn drastically around. With second week onwards, Kartik and Vidya’s film began narrowing the gap with Singham Again and soon, was able to overtake the film’s collection.
And now after 26 days, the gap between two films is about Rs 7.54 crore, with BB3 inching towards the Rs 250 crore mark by the end of the day, its total collection is Rs 249.10 crore, whereas Singham Again is at Rs 241.56 crore. Also the ROI on BB 3 is way higher than Singham Again, as the former was made on a very tight budget, and it also had a couple of good songs that worked wonders for the film and was able to bring in the required returns.
Singham Again was a great opportunity for Ajay and Rohit to have their first Rs 300 crore hit, but somewhere, it lacked in connecting with the audience on a massive level. The film will be able to cross Rs 250 crore before it folds up its theatrical run.
