Ravi Kishan has spent more than three decades in the industry. He carved his niche and solidified his footing in the industry by portraying diverse roles over the years. One of the recent works that made him garner so much love and admiration is from ‘Laapataaa Ladies.’ He played a cop in the movie and the way he got into the skin of the character was worth all applauds. One of the distinct elements of his character was his habit of eating paan. It gave an authentic touch to his role. Speaking about the same in a recent podcast, the actor revealed he had more than 100 paans for the film.
“I ate 160 paans,” said the actor in a recent podcast. He revealed once he went to Bihar, and saw an officer, whose body language and mannerisms left an impression on his mind. He said that whenever he meets an amazing person, that person settles in his mind. Therefore to date he has around seven to eight hundred characters in him that are fighting to come out.
He further added that it was completely his idea to portray his role as cop Manohar who talks strangely with a paan in his mouth. He said that Kiran Rao wanted him to keep eating snacks, as this character simply enjoys to eat a lot of things. This is when Ravi asked Kiran to order paan. He also shared that whenever paan comes into play, there comes a sudden urge to imitate Amitabh. Sometimes this urge takes over the body unintentionally and to avoid the same, he made sure that he took paan and sat down while making a face.
In the same conversation when the actor was asked to share his piece of mind on the casting couch and whether had he ever been a victim of the same, he made an honest confession. He said, “In every profession, in every industry, such incidents happen when you are slim, you are beautiful, young, fit, you are in your youth, and you don’t have money, you have struggles, you don’t have anything, then such attempts are often made on you.”
He said whenever people see an opportunity they play their cards and see how you react. He too faced several attacks in his life.
