The Kapoor family flew out to Delhi on Tuesday night to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and extend a special invitation to the centenary celebrations of legendary filmmaker and actor Raj Kapoor.
Present at the meeting were Ranbir Kapoor, Alia BhattNeetu Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor KhanSaif Ali Khan, Karisma Kapoorand Anisaa Malhotra Jain. The family, dressed in colour-coordinated traditional attire, had a brief meeting with the PM, where they handed him a personal invitation to the celebrations this weekend.
Ranbir exuded charm in a black Jodhpuri suit, while Alia and and Kareena stunned in coordinated in shades of red. While Alia opted for a saree, Babo rocked a salwar suit. Saif complemented Kareena in a white kurta-pyjama with a beige jacket, while Neetu and Karisma twinned in white and golden suits.
Following their meetings, the ladies got together to pose for a couple of photos that showed off their fashionable side.
The Kapoor family was spotted returning home later the same evening. They were seen arriving at the private airport and bidding each other goodbye before zooming off in their respective cars.
Raj Kapoor, born on December 14, 1924, was known as one of the country’s most influential cinematic forces. His contributions to cinema have left an indelible mark on the global film landscape. His iconic films, such as ‘Awaara’ and ‘Boot Polish’, earned international acclaim, competing for the Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival in 1951 and 1955.
Born in Peshawar (now in Pakistan), was the eldest son of actor Prithviraj Kapoor. His illustrious career earned him several accolades, including three National Film Awards, the Padma Bhushan in 1971, and the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 1988.
