Ananya Panday cites example of Shah Rukh Khan as she talks about people not from film families; says people have made 'star kid' a bad word

Ananya Blacksmith is gaining praise for her recent projects – Kho Gaye Hum Kahan, Call Me Baeand CTRL. On a podcast, she talked about how she doesn’t like the term ‘star kid.’
In conversation with Raj Shamani, Ananya expressed that the term ‘star kid’ has unfairly gained a negative connotation. She believes people should focus on the work and talent rather than labeling actors based on their family background. She also pointed out that both insiders and outsiders in the industry have found success, and the film industry, along with the audience, has played a major role in this.

The actress highlighted Shah Rukh Khan as an example, noting that despite not coming from a film family, he became the biggest star in the country. She believes success depends more on the person than their background. Ananya also expressed that using the term “star kid” as an insult isn’t fair or nice.

Ananya is the daughter of actor Chunky Panday and Bhavana Pandey. She made her debut in 2019 with Punit Malhotra’s campus caper Student of the Year 2, produced by Karan Johar‘s Dharma Productions.
On the work front, Ananya Panday will next be seen in a Karan Johar production, starring alongside Akshay Kumar and R Madhavan.
