Vikrant Massey’s latest film, ‘The Sabarmati Report’, has crossed the Rs 20 crore milestone at the box office, thanks to its steady performance on its second Tuesday.
Directed by Dheeraj Sarna, the film that also features Raashi Khanna and Ridhi Dogra in pivotal roles, maintained a steady grip at the box office in its second weekend. According to early estimates, ‘The Sabarmati Report’ earned approximately Rs 90 lakh on Day 12, maintaining a consistent trajectory at the ticket counters.
After collecting an estimated Rs 11.5 crore during its opening week, the film, despite facing stiff competition, maintained a strong hold over audiences during its second weekend. The film earned an estimated Rs 1.4 crore on Friday, Rs 2.6 crore on Saturday, and Rs 3.1 crore on Sunday.It’s steady weekday performance—Rs 90 lakh on Monday and Rs 90 lakh on Tuesday—helped push its total box office collection to an estimated Rs 20.40 crore. Notably, it achieved a 10.63% Hindi occupancy on Tuesday.
‘The Sabarmati Report’, has been appreciated for its engaging narrative and the standout performances of its cast. While the film began modestly, positive word-of-mouth and strong weekend footfalls have propelled its overall performance.
The Central Board of Film Certification granted the movie a U/A certificate after suggesting edits to violent scenes, muting certain words, and making minor alterations.
Since its release, it has been gaining support from political parties in various states, who have also declared the movie tax-free.
