Ranbir Kapoor was last seen in ‘Animal’ which is still talked about for its violence and for just being a movie that left people shocked. Not to mention, many alleged the movie to be misogynistic. While it drew immense criticism from many, it also drew huge box office numbers and crossed the Rs 500 crore mark. The film continues to be criticised for not giving the right message to the society.
Apart from ‘Animal’, even Ranbir’s ‘Sanju’ which was Sanjay Dutt’s biopic was criticised of it.People said that Dutt’s life and some not so good aspects about his life were glorified in the film. Ranbir had attended the 55th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa on Sunday. He reacted to this criticism and said, “I completely agree with your opinion. As actors, this is our responsibility to bring movies that make a positive impact on society.”
However, he further added, “As actors, it’s important for me to dabble in different genres and characters, and play varied roles.” At the event, Ranbir also expressed his desire to make a biopic on his father Raj Kapoor’s life. “I have thought about it a lot. I have spoken to a lot of people about it. I have spoken to various filmmakers, including Mr. Bhansali, on how to make a film on Mr. Raj Kapoor’s life,” said Ranbir.
But a biopic has a lot of complexities and is challenging. Adding more to it, he said, “You see, a biopic is not something where you just highlight the success factor or the highs in a person’s life. You truly have to portray someone’s life honestly, showing the lows, showing the struggles, showing the relationship dynamics.”
Ranbir also opened up on collaborating with Sanjay Leela Bhansali again for ‘Love And War’ and expressed that he’s quite excited for it.
