Reports of NFL player and singer Taylor Swift's beautiful Travis Kelce joining Adam Sandler’s movie have been doing the rounds for months. And now, according to the latest development, he has joined the cast of the sequel of an Adam Sandler starter. Titled ‘Happy Gilmore 2,’ it is a sequel to 1996’s cult classic golf movie. It got greenlit in May 2024.
According to Just Jared, Travis Kelce and Kid Cudi have been confirmed in mysterious roles for the movie.
Elated on being finalized for the role, Cudi took to his X account (formally known as Twitter) and expressed, “I’ve been wanting to talk about this for a minute!!! This is so f****** huge. Its been a long-time dream of mine to work with Adam, he’s my favorite, and his movies and comedy made up my childhood. Another dream come true. Blessed!! Get ready, this ones gonna be epic.”
Another surprise entry will be seen by Bad Bunny, who has been roped in but nothing about his character has been unveiled yet.
Meanwhile, from the first installment, the man himself – Adam Sandler, the ‘Modern Family’ fame Julie Bowen, and Christopher McDonald will reprise their roles in the sequel.
In addition to the secrecy around the characters, there has been a layer of suspense around the release date also. However, it has been confirmed that the film will premiere on Netflix.
Earlier reports were also doing the rounds that Sandler’s team approached Taylor Swift with an offer. Reportedly, she thought of it as a joke and didn’t take things seriously. “She started laughing when she was first told about the idea,” an insider revealed. However, it turned out the offer was serious. The insider added that Taylor felt featuring together seemed like a funny idea, but if she accepts the offer, it would be a treat for the fans.
