Aaradhya Bachchan was shielded by the Bachchan family from the spotlight and paparazzi culture for a very long time. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan protected her daughter from the flashlights as a loving mother would. But because she was a celebrity kidcameras followed her everywhere.
Once in an interview, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan talked candidly about the culture of paparazzi in Bollywood and how it will persist until the end of her life.”I am in a normal world, walking out and going to my car when full Tamasha is going on around you.There’s no getting away from this; it is who we are. And we’ll be like this, I like saying, till my last breath. Having said that, however much we would like to discuss it, it’s not going away. This is the way of our chosen life, this is part of our industry. With paparazzi, we can engage on a human level in requesting some semblance of sanity around children,” said Aishwarya during her interaction with Pinkvilla.
She also revealed that she sought to normalise the paparazzi culture for her daughter, Aaradhya Bachchan, after discussing it with her. The actress went on to say that she did not consider this culture to be normal because things were different when she was younger.
“And I have always spoken to my daughter. Throughout, from small, I try and weirdly, I guess, to keep it real and normal for her. But I’m always hoping and thinking for us it’s probably weird because we have lived in a world when it wasn’t there. She’s born into a world where it has only been there. So, there I try to make it normal for her within that, and it’s tough explaining it because to us it’s just not normal, but I’m still trying to,” quoted the ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ actress.
At the same time, the actress shared that occasionally, when Aaradhya became frustrated with the paparazzi, she would advise her to ignore them and carry on with her activities.
Abhishek Bachchan also acknowledged that his wife, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, had taught Aaradhya how to handle the attention of the paparazzi. In his old interview with RJ Siddharth Kannan, he gave full credit to Aishwarya. He mentioned, “She (Aaradhya) knew that her dada and dadi, and her mom and dad were both actors and that we were very privileged and that we enjoyed the love and respect of so many millions. She saw our films and she enjoyed them. She took the [paparazzi] in her stride. Her mother had trained her nicely.”
Fast forward to the present times, Aaradhya and Aishwarya are to date the pap’s favourite. They are mostly spotted together, and they smile with grace for the cameras.
